Outpatient Services
Program Description: The outpatient program strives to reinforce the dignity, worth, and rights of those we serve through a continuation of therapeutic interventions that are aimed at self-empowerment and the prevention of suffering from various levels of mental illness and addictive disease. Children, adolescents, and adults are asked to participate in developing a customized service plan to meet their specific needs. The following services are offered at the Haralson Behavioral Health Services outpatient program: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication maintenance, individual community support, screening services, diagnostic assessment and crisis management services.
A message from the Outpatient Supervisor: The older I get, the more I realize I have things backward. I began working in community mental health well over eight years ago. I thought I would be helping people who were suffering. What I have discovered is that these people I hoped to help have blessed me with everything from their humor to their quiet and gentle despair. Far from the days when “the mentally ill” were locked away in a sanitarium, we now have the privilege of their presence within our community.
